The Community and its focus

The Eassie and Nevay Community consists of a series of hamlets, farms and dwellings scattered across an area of some 5 square miles..

Many of the population work in farming, the principle economic activity, and a number of small businesses. Others commute to population centres such as Kirriemuir, Forfar, Dundee and Perth

In the past the Church at Balkeerie would have been a main focal point, today, in more secular times, its congregation represents a smaller proportion of the populace. The School too is a partial focus, particularly so for children and those related to the children.

The Community Hall is used by nearly all of the Community, hosting meetings for the Church, the Rural and many other bodies and individuals and acting as an additional resource for the School.
