How it Works
Eassie & Nevay Hall is a designated Angus Council Community Resilience Centre.
The Hall can be used as a safe refuge by the local community during emergencies such as severe weather and prolonged power failures.
It may also be used by the emergency services as a local command centre and distribution hub.
Funding from both SSE Resilient Communities Fund and Angus Leader Fund enabled the Hall to be equipped with the following :
- Diesel electric generator to allow the Hall to function if disconnected from the National Grid
- 4 petrol driven 2″ water pumps for use by anyone at risk of flooding
- 5 two-way radios
- emergency diesel generator to ensure the Hall can function in the event of grid power failure
- USB charging points
- defibrillator
- comprehensive first aid kits
- modern communications provision
ENKCA has produced and distributed a booklet encouraging those who consider themselves to be vulnerable to register with us so that assistance can be given quickly if required.
The advice to individuals and businesses is – be prepared for an emergency. This will help you to cope safely and puts you in a good position to recover more rapidly.

Area Covered
Though originally intended to serve the immediate area around the Hall in practice it may be used as a safe refuge in emergencies for anyone needing it. In the past has been used by people travelling from as far as Forfar.
